Turn an .ics calendar file into a clean, printable PDF online with the ICS to PDF converter, or print a month grid from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.

Have an .ics file? Open it here

See every event in the file, with its date and time, and anything that would stop it importing. Viewing and checking is free, with no sign-up, and the file stays in your browser.

An .ics file is made for calendar apps, not for reading or printing. If you need the events on paper, or as a PDF to email to someone, you can either convert the file directly in your browser or print a calendar grid from your calendar app.

Quick answer: Open your file in the ICS to PDF converter to download a clean, printable PDF agenda grouped by day in your time zone — without importing anything into your calendar. Want a wall-calendar month grid instead? Import the .ics file into a new, empty calendar in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook, print, and choose Save as PDF, then delete the spare calendar.

Fastest way: convert ICS to PDF in your browser

If you want a clean agenda grouped by day (times, titles, locations and notes) without touching your own calendar:

  1. Open the ICS to PDF converter and choose your .ics file (or paste its text).
  2. Check the events on screen. If the file has formatting errors, click Fix to repair it first.
  3. Click Download PDF to get a ready-to-print agenda (Letter in the US and Canada, A4 elsewhere). Need it in Excel or Google Sheets instead? Use ICS to CSV.

Printing from a calendar app: why use a spare calendar?

If you import into your main calendar, the PDF will show your own appointments too, and you'll have to remove the imported events one by one afterwards. A spare calendar keeps the imported events separate: you print just that calendar, then delete it in one step.

Google Calendar (any computer)

  1. Open calendar.google.com on a computer.
  2. Create a spare calendar: next to Other calendars, click + → Create new calendar. Name it something like "Print", then click Create calendar.
  3. Import the file: in Settings, open Import & export, choose your .ics file, pick the "Print" calendar under Add to calendar, and click Import.
  4. Go back to the calendar and untick every calendar except "Print" in the left sidebar.
  5. Choose a view at the top right. Schedule gives a list of events, which usually reads best on paper. Month gives a wall-calendar grid. Move to the dates you want.
  6. Click the Settings gear → Print. Adjust the font size and orientation in the preview, then click Print.
  7. In your browser's print dialog, set the destination to Save as PDF and save.
  8. Clean up: in Settings, click the "Print" calendar in the left list, scroll down to Remove calendar and click Delete.

Apple Calendar (Mac)

  1. Open Calendar and choose File → New Calendar. Name it "Print". Pick On My Mac if you're asked, so it won't sync to your iPhone.
  2. Choose File → Import, select the .ics file, and pick the "Print" calendar when asked.
  3. Choose File → Print (⌘P).
  4. Set the View (List works best for a long run of events, Month for an overview) and the Time range. Under Calendars, tick only "Print".
  5. Click Continue. In the print dialog, open the PDF menu at the bottom left and choose Save as PDF.
  6. Clean up: right-click the "Print" calendar in the sidebar and choose Delete.

Outlook

Classic Outlook for Windows:

  1. File → Open & Export → Import/Export → Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file → choose the file.
  2. When Outlook asks, click Open as New, not Import. Import adds the events to your main calendar. Open as New puts them in a calendar of their own.
  3. Select only that new calendar, then File → Print.
  4. Pick a style: Monthly Style for a grid, or Calendar Details Style for a list with descriptions. Set the dates under Print Options.
  5. Choose Microsoft Print to PDF as the printer and click Print.
  6. Clean up: right-click the new calendar → Delete Calendar.

New Outlook and Outlook on the web: import the file into a spare calendar, show only that calendar, then use Print in the calendar toolbar. Choose the view and date range, then pick Save as PDF (or Microsoft Print to PDF) in the print dialog.

On an iPhone or Android phone

Phone calendar apps don't have a print option. Two ways round it:

  • Open Google Calendar in a computer browser and follow the Google steps above. If the events are already in your phone's Google calendar, you can skip the import.
  • On iPhone, add the file to an iCloud calendar (how to add an ICS file to iPhone Calendar), then print from Calendar on a Mac signed in to the same Apple account.

Which view prints best?

You wantUse
A to-do style list with times and placesSchedule (Google), List (Apple), Calendar Details (Outlook)
A wall calendar for the fridgeMonth
One busy week, hour by hourWeek

If events are missing from the PDF, check that the date range covers them and that the spare calendar is ticked. If times look wrong, the file probably has time zone problems: see why calendar events show the wrong time.

Going the other way: PDF to calendar

If you have a PDF schedule and want it in your calendar, that's the reverse job. The PDF to ICS converter reads the PDF, including tables and grids, and gives you a calendar file to import.
