Your Calendar, Always Up to Date: Introducing the Personal Calendar Feed

Subscribe to your own Text-2-ICS feed once, and every schedule you convert — work rotas, fixtures, timetables — appears in Google, Apple or Outlook calendar automatically. Plus a new calendar view for your event history.

If you only ever convert one schedule, downloading an .ics file is fine. But a lot of you don't convert one schedule — you convert the same kind of schedule, over and over. A new work rota every few weeks. This month's match fixtures. Next term's timetable. And every time, the routine is the same: convert, download, open, import, repeat.

From today, you can skip everything after "convert".

What's New

Your account now has a personal calendar feed — a private, live webcal:// URL that always contains your recent and upcoming converted events. Subscribe to it once in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook, and from then on every schedule you convert appears in your calendar app automatically. No downloads, no imports, no re-doing anything on your phone.

The loop becomes:

  1. New rota arrives (email, PDF, photo of the noticeboard — whatever form it takes).
  2. Paste or upload it to Text-2-ICS, exactly like you do now.
  3. That's it. Your subscribed calendar picks up the new events on its next refresh.

Setting It Up (Once)

  1. Sign in and open Settings — or the new calendar view on your Event History page.
  2. In the Your live calendar feed card, click Create my calendar feed.
  3. Pick your calendar app:
    • Apple Calendar / Outlook — one tap on the Apple/Outlook button opens the subscription dialog.
    • Google Calendar — the Google button takes you straight to "Add calendar by URL" with everything filled in.
    • Anything else — copy the URL and paste it into your app's "subscribe by URL" option.

Calendar apps refresh subscriptions on their own schedule — typically every few hours. So a rota you convert this morning is on your phone by lunchtime, without you touching your phone at all.

Private by Design

Your feed URL contains a long, randomly generated token — it's unguessable, never listed anywhere, and tied only to your account. Nobody can find it; only people you'd deliberately give the URL to could see it. And if you ever want a fresh one, Reset link in Settings invalidates the old URL instantly.

Also New: a Calendar View for Your Event History

The Event History page has grown a second view. Next to the usual list there's now a Calendar toggle: a month grid showing every event you've generated, with highlighted days, hover tooltips, and month navigation. Click a day to see its events and export them again — handy when you know roughly when something was scheduled but not which conversion it came from.

It's also where your feed lives outside Settings, because the people who need a calendar view of their history are exactly the people who should subscribe once and stop importing.

Who This Is For

We built this after watching how our most loyal users actually work:

  • Shift workers converting a new rota every few weeks — stadium and venue staff, healthcare workers, hospitality teams.
  • Coaches and players keeping up with fixture lists that change monthly.
  • Students and teachers with timetables that shift each term.
  • Anyone who's converted the same type of schedule more than twice and is tired of the import dance.

If that's you, the feed turns Text-2-ICS from a converter into something closer to a pipeline: schedules go in whatever messy format they arrive in, and they come out in your calendar — automatically, every time.

Create yours in Settings — it takes one click.
