Excel to Outlook Calendar — From Spreadsheet to Appointments

Outlook does not import an Excel workbook into the calendar, and the new Outlook has no CSV import either. Upload your .xlsx here — a project plan, a training schedule, a team rota — and each row becomes an appointment in an .ics file that the new Outlook, Outlook on the web and classic Outlook all accept.

Upload the workbook as it is

No exporting to CSV first and no template. The first sheet that holds a table is read, and the column headers decide what goes where.

Works in the new Outlook

The new Outlook and Outlook on the web take .ics files through Add calendar → Upload from file, so there is no need to switch back to classic Outlook.

Read in your browser

The workbook itself is not uploaded. Only the rows of the sheet are sent, as plain text, to be turned into events.

How to import an Excel file into the Outlook calendar

  1. Upload your .xlsx file in the box above. Put the column headers in the first row of the sheet.
  2. Click Generate. Each row is turned into an event; check the titles, dates and times on screen.
  3. Download the .ics file. In the new Outlook or Outlook on the web, open Calendar → Add calendar → Upload from file, choose the file and pick a calendar.
