CSV to Outlook Calendar — Works with the New Outlook

Classic Outlook for Windows had an import wizard for CSV files. The new Outlook and Outlook on the web do not: they take calendar files in the .ics format only. Upload your CSV or Excel file here, check the events, and download an .ics file that every version of Outlook accepts — no wizard and no mapping of columns by hand.

One file for every Outlook

The .ics file goes into the new Outlook, Outlook on the web and classic Outlook for Windows alike. You do not have to switch back to classic Outlook to import a list of events.

No field mapping

The classic wizard asked you to match each column to an Outlook field. Here the headers are read and matched for you: "Subject", "Event", "Start", "Begins at" and the like.

Start and end times kept

A row with a start and an end becomes an appointment of that length. A row with only a date becomes an all-day event.

How to import a CSV into the Outlook calendar

  1. Upload your .csv or .xlsx file in the box above. The first row should hold the column headers.
  2. Click Generate. Each row is turned into an event; check the titles, dates and times on screen.
  3. Download the .ics file. In the new Outlook or Outlook on the web, open Calendar → Add calendar → Upload from file, choose the file and pick a calendar.
